PERSPECTIVES
I came across this article and realized how true it is. Read it!
One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them." The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!Pass this on to friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their perspective and appreciation. "Life is too short and friends are too few."
Bern's view:
In this world that we live in now, we tend to be blinded by measuring the wealth of one person by material things. We tend to get caught up with the latest fashion, the trendiest clothes, the most stlyish hair-do, the more expensive handphones, etc.. But as I begin to step back and take a look at what we have in our hands, the clothes over bodies, a roof over our head, food to fill our empty stomach, education to equip us, even a computer to blog on! Don't you think it's way more than we can ask for. We're so priveldged and blessed! We don't lack anything desperately. Most of the things we think we 'need' are actually 'wants'. We're just never contented with what we have. But as each day passes by, I pray that God teach us to be thankful for what we have. To appreciate the big things and even the little things in life. As I start to number my blessings one by one, I'm startled and awed by the amount of blessings I have. They're countless as the stars! Believe me, if you're never satisfied with what you have, always wanting more than you could have, start counting your blessings, you'll realize that you'll never be able to finish. "Thank you Lord for the blessings you've given. I trully appreciate them and will cherish them for the rest of my life. Espeacially those dear to me; my family and friends. God, refresh our perspectives. Help us see with Your eyes. Thank You again. I'm so grateful!"

The article explains the meaning of perspective so well. Fantastic kind of approach...
“People always complain they don’t have nice expensive shoes,… but they never think of those people without FEET…”
“People always complain they don’t have sporty exclusive car,… but they never think of those people without SIGHT…”
“People always complain they don’t have spacious luxurious house,… but they never think of those people without HOME…”
Hope all people around me may own that kind of perception (-the son’s perspective). We should be grateful with what we have now... :)
